The ASO website is built using the Drupal* open-source content management system. The same system is used to power the websites of the UK-based Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique and the American Society of Alexander Teachers, the two biggest Alexander societies in the world.
ASO is implemented using Version 7 of Drupal. Drupal 8 is due out shortly: but this is primarily the Drupal "core". With Drupal the "contributed modules" that many websites depend on may take months or years to be upgraded to the latest version so we do not anticipate upgrading the site anytime soon.
The ASO website is supported by Drupal specialists Mitkom Ltd. based in the UK. Mitkom Ltd. also host the website under a package deal that includes the hosting of the STAT website.
Website manager David Gibbens has several years' experience managing a Drupal website for an online community and in another life was involved in software development. He has sufficient expertise to design many of the required content types and data retrieval "views": he relies on Mitkom for
